About Sight First Project:
SightFirst is Lions’ most ambitious and most successful initiative ever. Thanks to SightFirst, Lions have restored sight to 7.5 million people through cataract surgeries, prevented serious vision loss for 30 million people and improved eye care services for hundreds of millions.
SightFirst was launched by Lions in 1989 to battle preventable blindness. Sadly, 80 percent of the world’s blind were needlessly without sight. Through SightFirst, Lions have prevented blindness by supporting cataract surgeries, helping expand eye hospitals and clinics, educating the public, distributing sight-saving medication, training eye care professionals and establishing sustainable eye care systems in underserved areas.
SightFirst has not only been stunningly effective but also startlingly efficient. On average, about every US$6 in donations has resulted in a person with vision restored or saved from blindness. In the 1990s, Campaign SightFirst raised US$143 million. With the successful conclusion the three-year Campaign SightFirst II in July 2008, Lions will expand current SightFirst programs and launch new initiatives through the more than US$200 million raised.

12.08.09(Wed) Fellowship Dinner hosted by PP LC of Sibu Mandarin, Lion Standley Ling @ Kota Kinabalu
12.08.09 (Wed) Reach Tawau Airport ETA 2110. Light supper hosted by Lions from Tawau. Checked in Hotel Emas, Tawau
13.08.09(Thurs) Picked up @ Hotel Emas 0700am. Land transfered to Semporna 0830am. Transfered to Sipadan water village Resort by speedboat. Followed by free and easy water sport activities, include boat snorkelling to Kapalai Island with snorkel set and also unlimited snorkelling at House Reef dive Centre. 1215p.m. Sumptuous seafood lunch provided. Departed around 1500 with nothing but with foot prints. Checked-in Dragon Inn Resort / floading restaurant.
14.08.09(Fri) Picked up 1200p.m. Checked-in Hotel Emas around 1400. Evening attend Tawau Lions Club’s Installation.
15.08.09(Sat) Departed Hotel Emas 0900 for Tawau Airport. Flight AK 6123. TWU 1045 – KK 1135 with sweet memories.
